Khawaja Haris, advisor to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has applied for exemption due to security threats.

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the District Court and the Sessions Court reserved their verdict on Pakistan Teliku Einsaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's plea seeking immunity from today's hearing in the Toshakan case against him.

Last week, the Islamabad High Court blocked the non-bail order issued by the Capital District Court against the former prime minister in the Toshkan case.

IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq accepted the PTI Chief Justice's request for Justice Zafar Iqbal's decision in the next hearing and directed Khan to appear before the lower court on March 13.

Today's meeting

At the beginning of today's hearings, Imran Khan's lawyers again asked for immunity due to security threats and also filed a request to cancel this case.

Based on the petition submitted by lawyer Khan Khawaja Haris, Judge Iqbal heard the case by 15:15 in the afternoon today and issued a verdict. He is a security threat."

Harris also filed a petition against the Tehreek-e-Insaf chief at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declaring it "inadmissible".

The Sessions Court ordered the PTI chief to appear before it for prosecution in the case. But Vakil Khan said that Tehreek-e-Insaf chief will not appear in court today.

Khan's lawyer said that the admissibility of the case should be determined before the arrest warrant is issued, adding that there is no legal requirement to file a complaint against Khan.

He added that the Election Commission can file a complaint against the former prime minister.  Khan's lawyers also said that under the Criminal and Corruption Act, complaints can be filed within 120 days, but in this case it was filed after three years.

Harris said the IHC stayed the detention order until today and directed the proceedings to follow the law.

Saad Hassan, the lawyer of the Election Commission, presenting his case, said that the main debate was about the arrest warrant for Khan.

He added: If the court finds the complaint inadmissible, there is no problem.

Hasan said that the legal deadline for the IHC's arrest warrant has expired today, adding that the Supreme Court has ordered Khan to appear in court today.

The Sessions Court has to examine whether the judgment is enforceable or not.

At the same time, Khan's lawyer said there was no reason to file criminal charges against the former prime minister.

He added that if the ECP had to argue for the admissibility of the complaint, all previous hearings would be illegal.

The letter must be executed on Khan.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Musin Nawaz Ranje said in a media meeting that Imran Khan is breaking the law.

He said that the judicial arrest warrant for Khan should be implemented and added that the Tehreek-e-Insaf chief should be arrested on the orders of the IHC.

"Imran Khan stole it. Now he is responsible for it. He is running away from the court," Ranja said.

PML-N leader Brating Khan said PTI chief has ruined the country.  Mr. Ranja said that PTI chairman should go to the court and participate in the court session.
