In the last 24 hours, at least 55 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected across the country


According to data shared by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as the number of Covid-19 cases continues to rise in Pakistan, the prevalence in the financial center of Karachi stands at 17.16%, the highest in the country. on Monday.

According to the latest statistics, 55 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the last 24 hours across the country.

386 tests were conducted in Lahore, of which 7 were confirmed at a rate of 1.81%. Meanwhile, 273 tests were conducted in Gujranwala, of which 1 was confirmed. In Karachi, 134 tests were conducted, of which 23 were confirmed.

The overall rate of positive cases in the country was 1.85, of which 14 patients were in critical condition. No death due to this virus has been reported in the last 24 hours.

The Minister of Interior said: There is a surveillance system in all entry points of the country, including airports.

He added: 90 percent of the country's population has received the Covid-19 vaccine so far.

The Minister of Health added: An efficient system with a sufficient management team in the country to maintain vigilance and prepare for the development of emergency plans to deal with the type of Covid-19 is fully operational.

He argued that the Pakistan Border Health Service would ensure the implementation of international health regulations.

He added: In case of adverse conditions, the health system is fully prepared to deal with the Omicron subspecies of Covid-19, including BF.7 in the country.
