LAHORE: Pakistan Teleco Insaf chairman Imran Khan said that the government's plan was to arrest him and implicate him in various cases to keep him away from the elections.
Speaking to the media outside Zaman Park, Imran Khan said that the government wants to imprison him in an area like Balochistan and file a case against him.
He added that he would interview PTI ticket applicants and admitted that the distribution of 2018 tickets was not done properly.
Imran said he had received reports that the money was used to distribute party tickets in 2018, but added that he would personally interview the candidates this time.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice President Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi met Imran Khan at Zaman Park on Thursday to discuss issues related to the current situation. The two sides also discussed the country's upcoming general elections.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan said he was ready to "talk to anyone" for the country's interests, progress and democracy. On Thursday, the Tehreek-e-Insaf chief said on Twitter that he would not hesitate to make sacrifices for Pakistan.
In another tweet, Khan sincerely thanked those who have joined his fight for "real freedom" and wished his movement success.
Earlier on Thursday, Imran Khan said he believed in the rule of law, stating, "I will appear in court on March 18. So why the whole drama?"
Khan claimed that he tried to arrest him not to bring him to court, but to "kill" him.
