Imran Khan appeared in court amid tight security; PTI claimed that the photographer was arrested


Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday received bail till April 6 from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in seven cases related to the clash at the court complex.

Their lawyers have filed petitions at the IHC seeking anti-arrest warrants in many cases registered in various police stations in the federal capital.

At the start of the trial, Khan's lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, appeared in court and argued that objections to biometric screening should not be given to people over 60 years of age.

The lawyers said that they had obtained the PTI chief's protection guarantee from the Lahore High Court (LHC), till the court but he was not allowed to move further.

In this regard, the IHC asked the CJ's counsel to explain why they had to go through the forum to reach the IHC.

Responding to Khan's lawyer's arguments, the court said there must be a real threat to the former prime minister, similar to the threat posed to him.

Justice Hasan said the court had repeatedly asked the Chief Election Commissioner to provide security to Khan.

Meanwhile, hours before the PTI chairman left, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banned live recording of meetings, rallies and rallies organized by parties, organizations and individuals in Islamabad today.

The regulator said the ban was imposed because recent vandalism at the PTI chief's court complex had "created chaos and panic" among spectators and police.

PEMRA said the broadcast of such content was in violation of the suo motu order of the Supreme Court and regulatory provisions. He warned that the license of TV stations broadcasting such content would be suspended if the law was not followed.

Security measures in Islamabad
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police said on Twitter that the Inspector General is holding an important meeting as Imran Khan is expected to discuss security measures.

It has been decided that SSP Asirasir Afridi will be responsible for field supervision regarding security measures.


According to the Islamabad Police, a central control room has been installed at the Aman City Centre.

Police said on Twitter that according to court orders, only injured people will be allowed to enter the courthouse.

Islamabad Police spokesperson earlier said there was no information about Imran Khan's appearance in court. He, however, said that the Islamabad police would take security measures following the court order.
